Is a classic woven fabric with a soft, brushed surface that resembles wool in appearance. It is made from 90% recycled polyester, which results in lower CO2 emissions than the process of producing new polyester fibers and minimizes the need for new raw materials. The staining meets the Oeko-Tex 100 standard.

Wool is generally an environmentally and animal-friendly material, as it uses less energy in the production cycle than other types of textiles. It also does not require the use of oil, as many synthetic fibers do.

In addition to the sustainable aspect, wool is durable and durable. Unlike fashion, furniture is something you expect to last for several years, and when it is upholstered in wool fabric, you get many years of joy - both in terms of appearance and comfort.

The material is generally easy to maintain because it contains lanolin. Lanolin is a natural product from sheep's skin that keeps it warm and dry, and it acts as a protective membrane against dirt and stains when made into textiles. It also makes the fabric water-repellent. Wool is flame retardant, and if, for example, glowing ash from a cigarette comes in contact with the substance, it will not melt or start to burn, and the ash mark will be easy to brush away.

Oh, choosing color and textile

We know the feeling well. You decide that it is time to invest in a new comfortable sofa or armchair and make the home situation a little more delicious. So you type all the way into SOFACOMPANY.com and find the sofa that just fits perfectly. Or maybe you rush into our Design Yourself universe to play sofa designer for a day.

But best as you have just found the perfect dream sofa, you suddenly get a little in doubt.

Because is it really the right color? And what about the fabric itself? Should you go for the safe gray fabric sofa? Or choose a funky, colorful velor saw?

Decisions abound, but they are not something you automatically have to stress over. Because we send you just 5 free fabric samples, which you choose yourself. Then you are well on your way to finding your dream sofa in peace and quiet at home.

What type of fabric should I choose?

Before ordering your 5 free fabric samples, however, there are just a few things or five you need to consider. Let’s start with the fabric itself. Here you have to start with the most important and really most crucial question. What do you prefer to sit on? Should it be soft and smooth? Or does it have to have lots of texture and feel warm like wool? The seating experience is really the alpha and omega here, so think about what you would most like to throw yourself into. And you get plenty of opportunity to feel the surface when you receive your 5 free fabric samples.

It could also be that you have fallen in love with one particular textile but are afraid of whether it is practical enough for everyday life? However, you do not have to wonder so much about that. All our textiles are carefully selected to be able to handle a little of everything in the private home. But preserved, coffee stains just get a little better camouflaged on a dark gray or brown sofa, and greasy fingers and dog hair also tend to seem a little less prominent on a beautiful, vibrant, dark blue velor surface. But if you want to be completely sure, you can always test everyday hardships on your submitted drug samples before you decide. Look forward to the red wine!

What color should I choose?

Okay. Here, of course, we are a little more out in a matter of taste and a matter of decor and personal style. If you are completely on a bare (color) bottom, you can start by asking yourself what style and what expression you would like. Should it be minimalist and clean? Should it follow a color red thread? Should the sofa fall a little in the background of the rest of your decor? Or should it run with all the attention?

Go for the light shades if you prefer a slightly toned down look. It can be light gray, light blue, beige or maybe even a delicate pastel pink. Go for a dark anthracite gray or deep dark blue if you are into the monochrome look. Or go all in on a green, a curry yellow, a red or a mint green sofa if you think all the minimalism becomes a tad too boring for your taste.

A fabric tester makes it easy to assess the color

But how do you assess whether the color will actually fit in? Yes, this is actually where the smart thing about getting sent 5 free fabric samples comes into the picture. Then you can hold the colors up against all your things at home, and see if the colors clash or match, and if it will work with a wild and daring color.

Then you can spend as much time as it should, hanging your 5 free fabric samples on the wall, laying them all next to each other on the floor, asking friends and family for advice, holding them up against the dog, or whatever else you need to be able to find exactly your dream sofa.
